Acne scars are actually a common occurrence and can affect anyone with any severity of acne. However, they are more apparent and common among people with severe cases of acne. The majority of acne scars are not noticeable and so most people overlook them.
In order to avoid the possibility of acne scars it is a good idea to find a treatment method that works for you and use it as instructed daily. This is the best way to prevent outbreaks of acne and thereby prevent the chance of getting acne scars.
There are number of products on the market that provide assistance when it comes to helping with the treatment of acne scars. Another thing that you may not be aware of is that there is more than one type of acne scar.
Let us first look at the two basic categories of acne scars the first is caused by a loss of tissue and the second is caused by an increase of tissue in the area.
An increase of tissue is called a keloid or hypertrophic scar. Hypertrophic is used to refer to overgrows and enlargements. These types of scars are both associated with collagen. These scars are formed when collagen is overproduced when responding to a particular damaged area. Collagen, which is not used in the repair of the damaged area, builds up and forms a scar, which has an irregular shape and a firm, smooth appearance.
The other type of increased tissue mass scar is Keloids. These tend to be hereditary and may be more prevalent within certain ethnic backgrounds. There are a number of treatment options for these types of scars.
The second type of scar results in a loss of tissue to the area. These are significantly more common when it comes to acne scars. There are several types of these tissue loss scars.
Ice pick shaped – These come in two varieties hard and soft. They are usually small in size and take their name from the fact they look like a wound that may have been received by an ice pick. Soft ice pick scars are generally not as deep as those that are hard.
Fibrotic acne scars that are depressed are usually the large scars that result from severe cases of acne. They appear similarly to the scars received from chicken pox. They can have sharp edges and steep sides, or be superficial or they can have sloping edges that blend in with surrounding normal skin.
Finally, there is Follicular macular atrophy, which usually occurs on the chest or back. These appear as white soft areas that do not rise disrupt the surface of the skin or disrupt it only slightly. They can persist for an extended period of them.
Hey, handsome! HEY! HANDSOME! Yes, you! Hello guys, this is Part 2 of our #CommentCeption vlog where I'll comment on the comments you left on my previous video. Without further ado, we will start our question and answer portion. For the first comment. This is a question. Emblem 22 said, "Psalm, you also underwent fractional CO2 right? Which do you prefer between CO2 and microneedling?" I'll just say it again, it has only been three months since my first visit to Envi. But before that I underwent six sessions of Fractional CO2 Laser treatment where I only saw minimal improvement. That's why I decided to jump to Envi. I underwent multiple treatments like Fractional CO2 Laser, TCA CROSS, and microneedling - all of those have PRP. Among those treatments, I don't have a preference. I prefer combination treatments, because with the scars I have, there must be a program to follow. Your skin needs to be assessed then the program will be customized for you to have improvement. So it is better to have combination treatment to target different acne scar types. We have different acne scars: boxcars scars, ice pick scars, and rolling scars. I have all of those. So a plan is needed for them to be treated. Kao Anthon Co commented, "I also have a friend who have a more severe acne scars than you. Returning to the Philippines from Korea after four years, his face became glass, I mean, glass skin. OMG, his face is so smooth! I want to throw jackfruit on his face for his scars to return! :D" My only comment to that is "sanaol" (Filipino expression for lighthearted envy). But you don't need to go to Korea, because we have Envi here in the Philippines. I am so biased with Envi, because look at my skin's improvement. I am so with the treatments that I got from Envi. You don't need to go to Korea, we have Envi! Wooooo! Edwin Walley posted, "Other people will ask me 'what did you do with your face?' I didn't hope for this to happen!" This is true! Back when I was in high school, my friends will ask me "what happened to your face?" or "what did you do with your face?" Why is it like my fault? Why me? I didn't hope to have an acne scars. There are other people who suffer from acne but never develop scars, but me, it's easy for me to develop acne and scars. We come from different situations and experience. No one wants this! Gilbert Angelo Galang said, "I subscribed to you since day one, and I have read a lot of comments saying that you are just wasting your money and they are only seeing minimal improvement. But now, the improvement is so big! I was inspired and given hope. I will now save money for my self-esteem. Thank you for your videos, keep on uploading! 00:05:28,745 I learned to accept my imperfections and I can't wait to go to that clinic after the pandemic. Thank you for giving us hope that my acne scar could improve. Keep it up, Psalm! I can't wait for your next video." Actually, I am slowly regaining my self-confidence because I can see improvement. When I look at myself in the mirror and see my skin. I closely monitor my face. I always notice subtle difference on my scars. I notice the gradual improvement. It's not like a sudden improvement. I still have scars. My skin's improvement is gradual, like slowly building a LEGO tower. I did not develop acne scars overnight. I only got it after my pimples healed. So solving my acne scars is also gradual. It's not a sudden thing. That's why I am now confident to stream on KUMU. I love singing. Even upon waking, the whole day. As long as I'm breathing, I sing. Happy or sad, I always sing. I come from a family of singers. I thought, why not share my talent to people. Why not show it to other people. Now that I regained some part of my confidence, I start live streaming on Kumu. It's a good platform for people like me who likes to sing, perform, or show their talents. That's why despite not passing on auditions, I lost the chance of pursuing my dream to become a star when I was young because of acne scars. That's why I am doing my best to address my acne scars and regain my confidence. Now I am streaming on Kumu. You will see me there performing live. I will speak with you, I'll talk with you, we can become friends on Kumu. Jonathan Luder said, "You may not read this, Psalm. But I'm so so proud of you. If I am there, and see you. I will give you a big hug. You are loved and you are worth it. You don't need anyone's validation for you to be liked and I saw your courage to overcome your problems. Keep fighting. We're just here to accompany you in your #SkinKinisJourney."Thank you, Jonathan! There are people who criticize what I'm doing and say bad things. But, I am holding onto those people who are following me on my journey. Those who are supporting and trying to understand what I am experiencing. Thank you so much, Jonathan for saying that. And I know that I don't need anyone's validation. I just want to see myself look good and have great skin. Thank you! Please don't get tired of following me in my journey. So guys, watch out for my next vlog next week. I will post a video where you will be surprised. It's a big difference. I was also surprised like, "is this for real?" Next week, watch out!
